Manual Screen Filters are supplied in either plastic or treated and polyester coated steel to prevent rusting and corrosion of the base metal. There are literally millions of these types of filter installed around the world on irrigation and water supply projects as they are an extremely reliable method of filtration. The filters are supplied with Flanged connections or standard BSP threaded connections in a range of sizes from 20mm all the way up to a huge 12" or 300 mm unit. Each filter has a recommended flow that will pass through the filter at a specific pressure loss and the recommended maximum flow should not be exceeded as this may decrease the system pressure after the filter. Similarly, the quality of the water that is being filtered is critical as very dirty water will clogg the filter a lot faster than clean water and this must be allowed for when choosing the correct filter for the task.

Our pink teflon plumbers tape is manufactured by Fedseal and is definitely a far superior product to all of those very thin white tapes. "Teflon 002" is manufactured to a very high standard and so it is of uniform size and thickness over the complete roll. With a thickness of 0.1mm it is up to 3 times thicker than some cheaper white versions on the market. "Teflon 002" should be used on all Nyglass, stainless steel, brass, cast iron, aluminium, gunmetal, ductile iron, pvc and most other BSP style threads. "Teflon 002" on our Hansen range of Nyglass fittings generally only requires 4 or 5 turns of "Teflon 002" to provide a leakproof seal. The manual screen filters in the range are all supplied with professional quality high strength nylon screens. These filters are used to filter out all particles over 130 micron or 0.13 of a millimeter and are particularly suitable for hard contaminants such as sand, rock, metal pipe flakes, seeds, nuts, and snails. This filter screen has the degree of filtration required for all drip line, drippers and, micro sprays. The filters are easy to clean and are pressure rated to 800 kpa.
